What is a podcast, anyway?

A podcast is a lot like a TV show, only usually without the video or the TV. Most podcasts, like ours, consist of audio episodes that are made available to the public on a regular basis. There are podcasts that cover all kinds of topics. We publish an episode on a different issue around the world about once each week.

So how should I listen to it?

You’re in luck, because there are plenty of options! For one, you can just visit our website to play the episode featured on the homepage or dig through our archives. However, most people prefer to have our episodes delivered to them automatically by subscribing in one or more of the ways below.

Subscribe on the iPhone or iPad

Most of our listeners subscribe through their mobile devices. There are plenty of options on iOS, but some of our favorites are stitcher, apple’s podcast app, and overcast.

Once you download one of those apps, you can search for our podcast and subscribe directly there. If you have trouble finding it, you can manually copy http://mattersofstate.org/feed/podcast into the app. Each week when we publish, the podcast will be delivered straight to your app.

Listening on an Android device

If you use an Android device, there’s no shortage of podcast apps that will let you subscribe to our show. On Android we recommend Player FM or Stitcher. Through either of these apps, you can search for our podcast and subscribe directly there. If you have trouble finding it, you can manually copy http://mattersofstate.org/feed/podcast into the app. Our episodes will be delivered directly there!

Listening on a Computer

If you’d rather not listen on a mobile device, the easiest way is to listen by visiting our website. You can also listen on iTunes or get email updates to let you know when we release an episode by signing up below.
